Do you occasionally think about what you’d love to do just once in your life?
For some folks, taking that cross-country trip is on the top of the list. Have you imagined it? Getting into your car and driving across this beautiful and vast country of ours just to see the sights? 50 states, more than that amount of subcultures in America, more than that many regional cuisines to taste, and thousands more sites to see and explore.
Wouldn’t that be great, the adventure of a lifetime!
So few people, though, actually get to make that cross-country exploration. Life’s obligations often are the main reasons that put off this type of excursion. And then there’s the financial concerns. It’s not cheap to go exploring about the country.
But there is a way that you can see what America has to offer.
Consider a camping trip! Camping is a cost-effective way to travel. Campgrounds charge anywhere from $10 to $40 per night. Even the most basic motel rooms charge more than that. There are plenty of campgrounds from which to choose. Say, for example, the family always wanted to go travel and have some outdoor adventure but you could only go for a few days and were on a limited budget. Why not check out Ohio’s Wally World Riverside Resort?
Located alongside the Mohican River, Wally World offers camp sites plus lots of family-friendly activities, such as swimming, mini-golfing, playgrounds and even a hot tub to relax in after a day of fun-filled activities! Outside of the campground, you can tour Ohio’s largest selection of Amish handcrafted furniture or visit the Mohican Lodge and Conference Center and learn about Ohio’s native birds of prey.
And while you’re en route to your campground of choice, you can stop off and visit the local areas or even break up your trip and stay at several campgrounds in different areas so you can get the most exploration in at one time.
So maybe at this time, the full 50 state tour isn’t possible, but it’s certainly feasible to take a tour of a slice of this amazing America in which we live. Why not? Life’s short. Take the time to enjoy what you can when you can. Camping is a great way to take in the sights, enjoy your family and friends, take a break from the stresses of life, and be one step closer to checking off one thing from your bucket list!
